With starter Jim Bunning leading the charge, the Salt Lake City Trappers defeated the Fresno Grizzlies, 4-1, in Game 2 of the Round 2 today. The right-hander threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs at Chuckchansi Park to help Salt Lake City take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Salt Lake City used the timely hitting of Frank J Thomas to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Trappers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Postseason wins taste oh so sweet," said Bunning after the game.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, August 28th , 2000 at Derks Field in Salt Lake City.
