Trappers Clip Grizzlies 4-3 in R2 Contest
|
The Salt Lake City Trappers are one game away from a sweep after beating the visiting Fresno Grizzlies, 4-3, at Derks Field today. Trappers right-hander Cliff Markle had a standout performance in which he threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Salt Lake City now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 2.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Trappers grabbed the lead when Frank J Thomas rapped a two-out single. Salt Lake City was trailing 1-0, when Thomas hit a 2-run single off Kent Greenfield to put his team in front, 2-1.
Thomas said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Derks Field in Salt Lake City.
