Conigliaro Slaps 5 Hits Tuesday, April 24th , 2001 Tony Conigliaro had an answer for everything the Montréal Expos threw at him at Jarry Park. The Columbus right fielder went 5-for-5 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Blue Birds a win, 11-8. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Conigliaro said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Tony Conigliaro doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Monk Dubiel in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Conigliaro is batting .346 with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored. |
