3 Home Runs for Wright
Tuesday, May 8th , 2001
David Wright of the Aces went on a hitting spree at T-Mobile Park and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a loss, 11-6, to the Seattle Rainiers.
"I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Wright said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."
The Las Vegas third baseman did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.
David Wright hit a solo-shot off Curly Brown in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Curly Brown in the 3rd and hit a two-run home run off Curly Brown in the 5th.
Currently Wright has 6 home runs and a .632 batting average.
