Rainiers Listless in 9-0 Loss to Brewers
Sunday, May 27th , 2001
Joe Lake of the Milwaukee Brewers spun his magic on the Seattle Rainiers. He blanked them, 9-0, on 4 hits, registering 9 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Lake said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Milwaukee skipper Justin Spraggins said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Joe pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
So far this season, Lake has compiled a 7-1 record with a 3.68 ERA.
