Maple Leafs Plugged by de la Cruz, Pelicans, 7-0 Monday, June 11th , 2001 Today was Tommy de la Cruz's turn in the rotation for the New Orleans Pelicans and he made the most of it, shutting out the Toronto Maple Leafs on 1 hit. The 33-year-old right-hander led the Pelicans to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 10 strikeouts. "I hope we miss him next time," Toronto manager Conor Jennings said.
