Hannifin on Fire: Burns St. Louis with 3 HR Friday, June 22nd , 2001 It was a good day for the Las Vegas Aces and an exceptional one for Jack Hannifin. The 26-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Aces beat the St. Louis Blues, 10-2, at Robison Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Hannifin said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Jack Hannifin hit a solo-shot off Bob Gibson in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Bob Gibson in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jake Westbrook in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This year, Hannifin is hitting at a .281 pace with 27 home runs and 56 RBIs. He has played in 59 games and scored 42 times. |
