Atlanta's Flood Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Sunday, June 24th , 2001 Curt Flood was the King of Swing at SkyDome in the 10-9 Atlanta X Giants win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Atlanta center fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against Toronto and delivered 5 hits. It was a sensational game for him. "Unbelievable feeling," he told the press. "It felt good. 5-for-5 isn't bad for your batting average either." Curt Flood singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Claude Passeau in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. In the 2001 season Flood is hitting .272 with 4 home runs. |
