Going, Going, Gone! Motton Hits 3 Homers Sunday, June 24th , 2001 Curt Motton showed off his power as he launched three balls into the seats against the Newark Eagles and sparked the Aces to a win, 17-10. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I have always liked to hit at Cashman Field." For the day, Motton collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 6 RBIs. "He was instant offense today," Las Vegas skipper Joe Boyd said. "Curt really put on a show." Curt Motton hit a solo-shot off Terry Clark in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Danny Coombs in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Don Hood in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Motton is hitting .208 so far this season with 17 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 10 hits including 9 home runs, 8 walks and .321 OBP. |
