Fuentes Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Wednesday, July 4th , 2001 Tito Fuentes has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Orlando second baseman picked up 1 more today against the Washington Senators and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Rays won the game, 4-1. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Tito Fuentes flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. So far this season, Fuentes has 4 home runs and a .352 batting average. |
