Wilson Rips 3 HR Wednesday, July 4th , 2001 Today was a special one for Bill D Wilson of the Milwaukee Brewers as he slammed three home runs in the 10-4 Brewers win over the Buffalo Bison. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Milwaukee center fielder collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Miller Park 2020. Bill D Wilson flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Dode Criss in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dode Criss in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Sergio Romo in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. This year, Wilson is hitting .288, produced 52 RBIs and 24 home runs, scored 47 times and gotten on base at a .335 rate. |
