Clark Blisters New Orleans Tuesday, July 17th , 2001 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Jerald Clark. Clark went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off New Orleans pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Shrine on Airline, he had a 5-for-5 line and a day he will long remember. And the Seattle Rainiers had a win, 11-5, over the Pelicans. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Jerald Clark hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Nixey Callahan in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th. So far this year, Clark has hit .296 with 11 home runs, 40 RBIs and 30 runs scored. |
