Blues, Stroman Buzz Kings, 1-0 Wednesday, July 18th , 2001 St. Louis hurler Marcus Stroman put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Queens Kings with a 1-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 3 hits with 7 strikeouts and no walks to pick up the win. "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Queens manager Jimmy Anderson told reporters after the game. This year, Stroman has a 5-9 mark in 18 starts with a 6.18 ERA. He has given up 134 hits in 113.2 innings, struck out 98 and issued 40 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .300 batting average against him. |
