Brewers Get One to Win
Monday, August 13th , 2001
Joe Horlen bent a little, but he didn't break against the Queens Kings. The Milwaukee Brewers pitcher hurled a 4-hit, 1-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 2 walks and tallying 5 strikeouts.
"Joe is good at getting out of jams," Brewers manager Justin Spraggins told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
In 22 starts this season, Horlen has recorded 5 wins and absorbed 13 losses. He has pitched 147 innings, allowed 165 hits, struck out 114 and has a 5.02 ERA.
