Injury Derails Season for Meadows Saturday, August 25th , 2001 Lee Meadows has to call it a season. The Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 08/22/2001 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn labrum and stated that he would not be able to play for 6-7 months. The team will likely place Meadows on the injured list today. Meadows has started 8 times this year, pitched 60 innings, fanned 56 batters and walked 22. His current record is 3 wins and 2 losses with a 3.45 ERA. |
