That's exactly what Max Carey did at Nationals Park, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 8-0. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Carey said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Louisville Redbirds center fielder blistered the Washington Senators for 3 hits, batted in 4 runs and scored 4 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Washington manager Jason Schmidt said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Max Carey was hit by a pitch in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jackie Brown in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jackie Brown in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jay Howell in the 9th.
