15-K Masterpiece for Mullin Wednesday, August 29th , 2001 Toronto Maple Leafs starter George Mullin brought his best stuff to SkyDome against the Milwaukee Brewers, striking out 15 batters in his club's 9-6 victory. In a strong performance, the 24-year-old Mullin gave up 9 hits in his 8.2 innings of work and issued 4 walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my fastball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." To date this year, Mullin shows a 5-3 record, 12 starts, 82 innings, 84 strikeouts and a 4.06 ERA. |
