Derek Lowe of the New Orleans Pelicans toyed with the Newark Eagles, as he shut them out, 10-0, at Washington Park. He was almost untouchable, twirling a 6-hitter with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Lowe said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there."
This year, Lowe has worked 110.1 innings with 101 strikeouts en route to a 6-6 record and a 4.57 ERA.
