Rays Heading to Round 3 Monday, September 24th , 2001 A classic and dramatic Round 2 has wrapped up, with the Orlando Rays outlasting the Louisville Redbirds to advance to the Round 3. Orlando won the final game by a score of 2-0 and took the series 4-3. "We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Orlando left fielder Minnie Miñoso, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP. Miñoso hit .364 with a .364 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Orlando Rays will play against the St. Louis Blues in the next round. St. Louis won their series against the Hartford Dark Blues 4 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |
