Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Lewis Thursday, April 18th , 2002 Fred M Lewis of the Hartford Dark Blues has now hit safely in 20 straight games. He socked 1 hit in today's 5-4 triumph over New Orleans at Shrine on Airline. "20 games is a big chunk of the year, isn't it?" Lewis said to reporters. "It's hard to wrap your head around." Fred M Lewis hit an RBI double in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season, Lewis is swinging the bat at a .410 rate with 16 hits in 39 at-bats. To date he has hit no home runs, scored 7 runs and driven in 4. |
