Missions Plugged by Malarkey, X Giants, 4-0 Tuesday, August 15th , 2000 John Malarkey of the Atlanta X Giants humiliated the San Antonio Missions at Ponce de Leon Park today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 7 hits. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said San Antonio manager Ricky Stover, after the game. Malarkey whiffed 12 and walked 0 in the 4-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Malarkey said. "I was making good pitches the entire game." To date this year Malarkey has compiled a 12-7 mark with a 3.44 ERA in 22 starts. |
