Mobile, Phoenix Agree to Deal Sunday, June 18th , 2000 Both sides appear content with the trade finalized today that will send 29-year old minor league 3B Frankie Gustine to the Phoenix Firebirds, while the Mobile Bay Bears will receive 31-year old minor league LHP Randy Wolf. "This is a move that filled a few gaps in our roster," said Chris Holder, Bay Bears general manager. For his part, the Firebirds GM said the trade was made "in the best interest of our organization's future." BNN analysts reported that on paper the trade seemed to be a plus for both ball clubs. Thus far this year Gustine has hit .154 with 1 home run and 1 RBIs. |
