Grizzlies Webb Smacks 5 Hits
Monday, June 26th , 2000
Fresno right fielder Earl Webb had a day to remember today, 5-for-5 against the Phoenix Firebirds at Phoenix Muni as the Grizzlies picked up a 15-8 victory.
"He was patient up there today," Fresno skipper David Wadkins told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Webb has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Earl Webb hit a two-run home run off Ed Brandt in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year Webb is batting .280 with 71 hits and 19 home runs. He has scored 44 times and has batted in 63 runs.
