Phoenix, Honolulu Agree to Swap Sunday, July 2nd , 2000 The Phoenix Firebirds have made a deal sending 30-year old minor league 1B Jim Gentile to the Honolulu Islanders for 18-year old minor league LHP Kent Peterson. Both sides are said to be pleased with the way the trade worked out. This year Gentile has collected a .278 batting average to date with 78 hits in 281 at-bats, 53 RBIs, 24 home runs and scored 55 times. He has played in 79 games. |
