Hits Galore: Cruz Drills 5 Hits Tuesday, July 11th , 2000 Nelson R Cruz said "it felt like taking batting practice" today at South End Grounds, and it showed in the box score. The Tampa Bay right fielder had a fantastic 5-for-5 day against the Boston Pilgrims, leading his club to victory, 11-4. "I was seeing the ball very well and it was going just about anywhere I wanted," Cruz said later." Nelson R Cruz singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Carl Pavano in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Carl Pavano in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
