July's Best Batter Announced Tuesday, August 1st , 2000 Joe Lis has a lot going for him. The Dallas first baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the High Indy National has just picked him as its top hitter for July. In 26 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .308 with 13 home runs, 28 RBIs and 25 runs scored. This year Lis has 34 home runs and a .283 batting average. |
