Hit Streak Now at 20 for Webb Saturday, August 5th , 2000 Earl Webb, right fielder for the Fresno Grizzlies, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 5-4 victory today over the Denver Bears at Chuckchansi Park today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Denver manager George Vicari said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Earl Webb struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 7th. This year Webb has hit at a .303 pace and produced 84 RBIs, 24 home runs and scored 57 runs. |
