Escobar Goes Long 3 Times
Tuesday, August 8th , 2000
It was a good day for the Durham Bulls and an exceptional one for Eduardo Escobar. The 28-year-old second baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Bulls beat the Tallahassee Pirates 6-4 at Centennial Field.

"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Escobar said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."

For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 4 hits in 9 at-bats.

Eduardo Escobar flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Rick Porcello in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, grounded out in the 13th, singled in the 15th, hit a two-run home run off Raisel Iglesias in the 17th and hit a two-run home run off Raisel Iglesias in the 19th.

During the current season Escobar is batting at a .232 clip with 16 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 96 games and scored 30 times.
