5-Hit Blitz by Tallahassee's Martinez Tuesday, August 8th , 2000 Victor Martinez got the glory and the headlines today, but the Durham Bulls left with the win. The Tallahassee catcher easily handled the Bulls pitching, going 5-for-7, but his Tallahassee Pirates came out on the short end of the 6-4 score. Martinez told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Victor Martinez walked in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th, grounded out in the 16th and walked in the 17th.
