Rowdy Players Suspended by League Thursday, August 10th , 2000 Oris Hockett of Oakland and Chien-Ming Wang of Salt Lake City were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. Hockett will have to miss 4 games for his part in the brawl, while Wang was given 8 games. League officials announced their suspensions today. A look at his current stats shows Hockett with a .262 average, 3 home runs, 22 RBIs and 45 runs scored. He has played in 95 games. Currently Wang has a record of 9-7 with 133 strikeouts and 50 walks in 179.2 innings and a 3.06 ERA. |
