Tarpons Move on to Round 2 Sunday, August 20th , 2000 The Tampa Bay Tarpons out-dueled and outgunned the Toledo Mud Hens in the Round 1 and are on to the next round. Tampa Bay won the final game 4-3 at Swayne Field and the series 4-1. Mike Davis was named series MVP for a strong offensive performance during the Round 1. He had a .438 average with a .471 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing the ball well and glad to help my team out and get us to the Round 2," he said. The Tampa Bay Tarpons don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Calgary Bronchos - Lexington Thoroughbreds series. Lexington leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
