Trappers Win Round 2
Friday, September 1st , 2000
It's not often a losing player is named MVP of a series, but that's the situation Earl Torgeson found himself in tonight, as the Salt Lake City Trappers beat his Fresno Grizzlies to advance to the Round 3.
Salt Lake City won the final game by a score of 8-7 at Chuckchansi Park and took the series 4-2.
Despite his strong performance, Torgeson was not taking many positives away from the series.
"I'm glad I played well, sure, but what good does it do us now?"
The Salt Lake City Trappers will play against the Lexington Thoroughbreds in the next round. Lexington won their series against the Tampa Bay Tarpons 4 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
