Bunchgrassers Deal Rivera to Terriers for Nixon Sunday, July 30th , 2000 The Bunchgrassers and Terriers confirmed this afternoon that a trade had been agreed upon. In the deal, Spokane will get 30-year old minor league RHP Willard Nixon, while Canton will receive 34-year old minor league RF Jim Rivera. Rivera is hitting .246 this season with 6 home runs, 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 41 hits in 167 at-bats. Nixon has taken the mound for 13 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-1 record with a 2.76 ERA. The Spokane reliever has limited opposing batters to a .243 batting average. |
