Hitting Streak Still Alive for Schaal
Saturday, August 5th , 2000
Paul Schaal ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Rosenblatt Stadium, when he collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Greensboro Grasshoppers dropped the game, 2-1, to the Omaha Buffaloes.

"Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Schaal said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game."
Paul Schaal flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Bill Dietrich in the 9th.

This season Schaal has delivered 89 hits in 289 at-bats for a .308 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .395 clip and his totals also include 50 RBIs and 43 runs scored. This year Schaal has played in 72 games.
