Long Beach's Pearce AMN Star of the Week Monday, August 7th , 2000 WBL Mid National pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Steven Pearce, but to no avail. His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .444 for the week to win the AMN Player of the Week Award. The Long Beach second baseman cracked 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 3 home runs, drove in 5 runs and scored 7 times.
