Blass on Fire, Strikes out 15 Witches Sunday, August 13th , 2000 Harrisburg Ponies starter Steve Blass brought his best stuff to Union Grounds (Brooklyn) today against the Wichita Witches, striking out 15 batters in his club's 6-3 victory. In a strong performance, the 28-year-old Blass gave up 8 hits in his 9 innings of work and issued 1 walk. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my curveball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me."
