Rehg Batters Chattanooga for 5 Hits
Sunday, August 27th , 2000
The Trenton Thunder stopped the Chattanooga Rats by a score of 11-9 at Engel Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Wally Rehg. The 25-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Rehg said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Rehg did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Rats.

"Not much that I can say," offered Chattanooga manager Ryan Metzler. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Wally Rehg doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Looking at his present stats, Rehg has compiled a .373 batting average in 88 games with a .412 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 33 runs.
