LaPoint King of Fling with No-Hitter Sunday, September 3rd , 2000 Dave LaPoint was untouchable today at Atwood Stadium, displaying a good fastball and wicked breaking balls in his 3-0 win against the Flint Gems. The Canton hurler did not allow a single hit, fanning 13 while walking 2. "This is great," LaPoint told reporters after the game. "Every pitcher wants a no-hitter.
