Monday, September 4th , 2000
The number just keeps getting higher.
Harrisburg catcher Eric MacKenzie has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 2 at-bats as the Harrisburg took the 1-0 win over the Providence Clamdiggers at Union Grounds (Brooklyn).
"Who knows how long it will go on?" Providence manager Cory Lilly said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Eric MacKenzie singled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th and hit an RBI single in the 6th.
So far this year MacKenzie is batting .292 with 22 home runs, 65 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
