Despite a good recent start, <strong>Bob Feller<\/strong> moved to the bullpen, with Steen stepping back into the rotation. <strong>Rowland Office<\/strong>&#8211;he of the very early season heroics&#8211;was sent down as well, with <strong>Evan Longoria<\/strong> coming back to Cleveland. <strong>Larry Doby<\/strong> remains on the roster, but will see his playing time decrease significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#Homestead Grays<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Homestead shook up its pitching staff, demoting <strong>Frank Linzy<\/strong> and <strong>Billy Pierce<\/strong> to AAA, naming <strong>Stan Bahnsen<\/strong> as their #5 starter, and moving <strong>Michael Jackson<\/strong> into the closer role. <strong>Babe Adams<\/strong> and <strong>Cliff Lee<\/strong> were recalled. <strong>Peaches Graham<\/strong> was demoted to AAA, with <strong>Rick Ferrell<\/strong> being recalled and <strong>Jim Hegan<\/strong> released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#Indianapolis ABC&#8217;s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Down a run in the top of the 9th and facing Miami&#8217;s <strong>Aroldis Chapman<\/strong>, things looked bleak for the ABC&#8217;s. But consecutive pinch hits from <strong>Dave Henderson<\/strong> and <strong>Johnny Bench<\/strong> tied the game and <strong>Oscar Charleston<\/strong> delivered the go-ahead run with a clean single to center. The comeback vindicated a strong start from <strong>David Price<\/strong>, who allowed 4 hits and 2 runs in 8 innings, moving to 2-4 on the year. <strong>Rob Dibble<\/strong> picked up his 9th save with a perfect bottom of the 9th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Doc White<\/strong> has replaced <strong>Red Faber<\/strong> in the starting rotation for Indianapolis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#Philadelphia Stars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steve Carlton<\/strong> heads to the DL after being pulled having only thrown 2 innings against Memphis. He&#8217;ll miss 2 starts, at least. <strong>Fred Talbot<\/strong> was recalled from AAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bob McClure<\/strong> was returned to AAA as the Stars continue to struggle to find both a couple more starters and a bridge to the excellent back end of their bullpen. In the meantime, <strong>John Montgomery Ward<\/strong> returns to the rotation, and <strong>Jack Easton<\/strong> was recalled. The Stars would be willing to ship <strong>Bill Dickey<\/strong>, <strong>Jimmy Rollins<\/strong>, and <strong>Mickey Doolin<\/strong> to AAA, but there just aren&#8217;t enough options.
