Magicians Continue Skid, Thanks to Easler, Secret Nine
The rain did not keep Armstrong's and Roanoke from finishing their game.

The Armstrong's Secret Nine beat the Roanoke Magicians, 5-3, at Roanoke Ballpark. The win was due in part to right fielder Mike Easler, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Rick Lysander got credit for the save for Armstrong's. It was his 9th of the year.

Easler provided the big break for the Secret Nine in the top of the fifth inning. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple, helping Armstrong's to get the win.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Easler. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."

The slumping Magicians have dropped 7 in a row.
