Magicians Win in Extras, 4-3
|
Roanoke beat Lynchburg on the strength of starter Dave Stenhouse's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. The Magicians bumped their record to 28-24 with this win.
There were several reasons the Magicians beat the Hillcats, but one factor was Dale Long. In the top of the tenth, the Roanoke first baseman came to bat and hit a solo home run. It staked his team to a 4-3 lead.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Rob Stech.
