Judges Suffer 4-3 Home Loss
|
Pine Bluff got a decent performance from pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Camagüey Toros. Camagüey won the Taylor Memorial Field contest, 4-3. Jimenez threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Camagüey reliever Yunesky Maya was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Ubaldo Jimenez took the loss. Jared Hughes collected his 5th save.
Camagüey right fielder Matt Diaz contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider into left field for a solo home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Toros ahead, 4-3.
After the game, Camagüey manager Scott Koziol applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
With the win, the Toros have a record of 31-24.
