Anderson Now 9-2 After Beating Spiders
|
The Los Angeles Angels topped the Cleveland Spiders, 3-0, in American League action at League Park. The standout performance belonged to Los Angeles pitcher and Midland, Texas, native Brett Anderson. Joe Nathan earned his 18th save in 22 chances. Los Angeles has now won 3 straight, while the Spiders have lost 3 in a row.
The Angels liked what they saw from Anderson. The 22-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Spiders to no runs on 2 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 7.
Anderson told a Los Angeles Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
