Walton hits 2 home runs as Toros Squeeze Past Corpus Christi
|
Jerome Walton was a major factor in the 4-3 Camagüey win over Corpus Christi. The Toros center fielder was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Camagüey reliever Todd Jones picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Hugh McQuillan took the loss. Camagüey raised its record to 44-30 with the win.
Walton turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. That's when the Camagüey center fielder dialed up a 2-run home run. Just like that, Camagüey 's 3-2 deficit turned into a 4-3 lead.
After the game, Camagüey manager Scott Koziol applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
