The Lynchburg Hillcats picked up a win at Roanoke Ballpark, knocking off the Roanoke Magicians, 6-3. Starting pitcher Pete Conway was a big reason why. Conway went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 10. His record improves to 12-4. With the win, the Hillcats have a record of 53-34.

Ernie Sulik had a big 2-run home run for the Hillcats in the top of the fourth inning. With Lynchburg leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from Jack Armstrong and swatted a home run to left. It was his 17th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hillcats ahead, 4-1.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Sulik told the Lynchburg Today. "It's as simple as that."
