A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Miami Cuban Giants and Los Angeles Angels.

With shortstop Robin Yount leading the charge, the Miami Cuban Giants defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 12-2, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim 1998. Yount was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Cole Hamels picked up the win, lifting his record to 9-8 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 1 in 7 innings, while yielding 2 runs.

With Miami leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Yount hit a fastball from Dwight Gooden for a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Cuban Giants ahead, 3-0.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Yount.

The Cuban Giants improved to 50-54.
