Hillcats Win 4-2 Walk-Off
|
Bingo Long's wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Al Benton, falling to the Lynchburg Hillcats, 4-2. Benton threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Lynchburg reliever Darren O'Day picked up the win to move to 3-4. Russ Springer suffered the loss. The Hillcats, now 55-34, have won 4 in a row.
In the bottom of the tenth inning, Justin Smoak won the game for the Hillcats, walloping a 2-run home run. For the game, Smoak went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Nick Hannan. "But it's got to translate into wins."
