Camagüey starter Jim McGlothlin pitched well against the Roanoke Magicians at Roanoke Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. McGlothlin, now 6-6, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Roanoke.
Elmer Miller put Camagüey in front, 4-0, when he took Mike Wright downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the top of the seventh. It was his 31st home run of the season.
"We're all smiles after that win," Miller told the Camagüey Daily News.
