Hillcats Stymie Kenosha, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Lynchburg Hillcats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Fred Cambria, who stifled the Kenosha offense en route to a 3-1 Hillcats win at Simmons Field. The winning pitcher was Cambria, now 5-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The Comets have now dropped 5 straight.
Spike Owen had an important at-bat with no one out in the top of the fifth, when he hit a solo home run. His 15th home run of the season put Lynchburg on top, 2-1.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Owen. "The only team that can beat us is us."
